If you were a Christian, a priest or a Catholic, would you allow a hole to be bored into your church?  

no, however, in a christians perspective, the church is a holy place where people come to worship God in peace and as much as the reverence in the atmosphere is more necessary than the appearance of the church, the overall structure and interior helps with the formality and keeps the place look clean, pleasing to the eye, and peaceful. though, it really depends on the situation whether bearing a hole into the church will give significance to what is going on and whether it will actually help with the purpose of the church or help those worshipping in the place.
